Summary

Social injustice is a defining feature of the 21st century, with issues dominating global headlines, but solutions to these challenges seem impossible.

Our LLM Law and Social Justice programme pulls together expert legal knowledge and practice to explore the role of law in achieving social justice. The programme will provide innovative and critical theoretical and doctrinal tools to tackle the pressing contemporary challenges, including racial and gender inequality, the climate crisis and poverty.

The programme does not only take a high-level theoretical approach to issues of social justice and the law but connects to the practice of law by bringing into the classroom civil society partners and campaigners working on the front line of intersectional and structural inequality.

The programme will connect social injustices at the micro, miso and macro level and consider how local, national, regional and international legal systems can respond also carefully considers what might be the limits of the law.
